• Bauders are traders, and their society is strongly focused on economics. They're subjected to severe periodical economic crisis, some of which nearly destroy the empire, with communication and travel between colonies falling apart and some worlds reverting to barbarism.
• Their original world was destroyed by the Grox, but they have kept information about the native planet and try very hard to reproduce the environment on similar worlds. Many of these worlds adpot the name of the native planet, "Baudelair", and some even start believing theirs is the original one.
• Known for their meticulous dedication to terraforming. Bauders dislike the "artificial" feel of worlds terraformed using the "quick" tools. They'd rather take their time.
• Bauders have two languages: they can speak interlac using rasp sounds produced by the throat, but can also use the hollow heads for loud warning howls. Music is the main form of art on the Bauder Empire, using this louder and simpler second language.
• A Cyborg Bauder is a Bauder that has undergone surgery to implant mechanical parts. While they are capable warriors and fine mercenaries, they are shunned from the common Bauder society for "mimicking" the ways of the Grox.
• Bauder military service is voluntary. While they don’t seek war, they don’t shy away from it either.
